Emily Harrington is a mezzo-soprano from San Francisco, completing her Master’s of Music in Classical Vocal Performance from NYU Steinhardt this December. This summer, she participated in Opera Seme in Arezzo, Italy, where she performed as Cherubino in scenes from Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, and as ensemble/Madre Superiora cover for Giordano’s Mese mariano. Other notable roles include ensemble/Stefano cover in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette for Lyric Opera of Orange County, and for Fullerton College opera scenes, Isabella in Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri, Dulciné in Massenet’s Don Quichotte, Orsini in Donizetti’s Lucrezia Borgia, and Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte.
In addition to opera, Emily enjoys jazz, folk, and musical theater, sings in the NYU Chorale, and plays piano in a wide range of styles. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Marine Biology, and has also studied writing, acting, dance, and archaeology.
